Feasibility Studies

Cobra works with Clients to demonstrate technical and economic feasibility. In the feasibility phase, Cobra applies global expertise through our extensive network of associates to identify and evaluate potential development concepts. We understand how critical accuracy and rigor in the early phases since they shape the direction of your development plans and we work with you to understand what important.

Cobra supports companies in establishing whether exploration and appraisal results should be turned into development and production or whether alternative options or even no option is the right way forward.

Typical but activities we carry out in this phase include

  • Engagement with Client stakeholders to identify key project drivers;
  • Assessment of reservoir characteristics and environmental conditions;
  • Review of subsurface exploration results;
  • Identify likely development solution(s) including such items as Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR);
  • Technical definitions;
  • Identification of technical and commercial risks;
  • Various feasibility studies to remove and identify risk and uncertainties;
  • High-level weight and cost estimates and development schedule;
  • 3D visualization where it helps;
  • CAPEX, OPEX and where required ABEX assessments;
  • HSE screening assessments;
  • Assistance with regulatory processes;
  • Provision of guidance for next phase of work.

One thing we do know is that no two feasibility studies are the same, although lessons learned from our many years of experience does add value so we promise to listen, understand and apply both your requirements and our knowledge.
